In November 1995, the then newly crowned 2-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher switched from the Benetton Renault Team to Scuderia Ferrari.

More details

or the Ferrari team, which was reorganising itself after a 10-year unsuccessful lean period, the signing of Schumacher was a real stroke of luck.

Immediately after the team change, Schumacher asked for a test cycle in his new company car, the Ferrari 412 T2, on the in-house test track in Fiorano, Italy. And the home team immediately noticed that a new wind was blowing into the team with Schumacher. For example, after the first test drives, the track in Fiorano had to be partially modified to meet Schumacher's ideas.

The changes paid off: at the first official tests for the 1996 Formula 1 season, Schumacher immediately set new records in the Ferrari - a first glimmer of the new glamour that Schumacher brought to the Scuderia and crowned with a total of five world championship titles.
