Starting from pole position was Max Verstappen of the Oracle Red Bull Racing Team in his RB18 race car. In the 18th race of the season, the field of drivers not only battled against each other, but also against the weather and the pouring rain. After several restarts, the race was completed after the maximum 5 hours had elapsed and Verstappen was declared the winner. With the win, Verstappen secured the overall victory in the drivers' championship early and became world champion for the second time after 2021.
